Think of a word and write a number of lines equal to the number
of letters in the word. For example,
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ = reading.
Draw a scaffold next to the word. Students take turns to guess
the letters of the word. When someone guesses the entire word,
they have won. When a right letter is guessed, it is written
in the appropriate space. When a wrong letter is guessed,
it is written on the board and a part of a person's body is
drawn on the scaffold. If all the body is drawn before the
word is guessed, the game is lost. Perhaps the most well-known
game in English teaching.
